Screw driver, screw and bottle of Bit Biter

Bit-Biter™

Friction-enhancing compound

Bit-Biter™ is a friction-enhancing liquid compound that restores grip between a slipping driver bit and a damaged or stripped fastener head. Applied directly to the fastener, it instantly increases the coefficient of friction at the tool-to-fastener interface, enabling removal or installation of worn, cam-out, rounded, or rusted fasteners without extractors or re-tapping. Compatible with all standard driving tools and suitable for use on metal, wood, and most plastics.

Bit-Biter™ is a liquid compound formulated to increase friction at the contact interface between a driving tool and fastener head. When a driver bit cams out of a fastener recess due to wear, damage, corrosion, or misalignment, the resulting slip causes progressive damage to both the fastener and the tool. Bit-Biter™ impedes this process by depositing a friction-enhancing medium at the interface, restoring torque transmission without mechanical intervention.

  • Works on all fastener drive types: Phillips, slotted, hex, Torx, square drive, and spline.
  • Compatible with all driving tool types: screwdrivers, hex/Allen wrenches, sockets, pliers, and wrenches.
  • Applicable to new fasteners and drivers as a preventive measure against cam-out and stripping.
  • Non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-staining, and odorless. Water cleanup.
  • Indefinite shelf life; supplied ready-to-use in a 30cc brush bottle for direct application.
  • Operational temperature range: -50°C to 75°C (-60°F to 170°F).

Automotive Service and Repair: Removal of stripped or cam-out fasteners on body panels, engine components, and undercarriage assemblies without drilling.

Industrial Maintenance: Field recovery of damaged fasteners in machinery, enclosures, and structural assemblies where re-tapping or extraction is impractical.

Construction and Woodworking: Improved grip and torque control when driving fasteners into dense or variable substrates.

Electronics and Precision Assembly: Controlled removal of small fasteners with minimal applied force, reducing risk of collateral damage to surrounding components.

Preventive Use: Applied to new drivers or fastener heads prior to installation to reduce stripping risk on high-cycle or high-torque applications.

Method of Use

  • Shake bottle well before use. Store in a cool location away fromdirect sunlight.
  • Dip the bit or driving tip directly into the liquid. Apply to the fastener head with the integrated brush for targeted coverage.
  • Apply liberally to the tool or fastener head surface. Bit-Biter™ works instantly on contact.
  • Proceed with fastener removal or installation using standard driving technique and tools.
  • Clean up any excess product with water. No special solvents required.

Performance, Advantages and Benefits

Friction Multiplication at the Tool-to-Fastener Interface

Bit-Biter™ works by depositing a friction-enhancing medium between the driver tip and fastener recess, increasing the coefficient of friction and restoring torque transmission capability. This allows the driver to engage and turn fasteners that would otherwise slip, cam out, or cause further damage.

Eliminates the Need for Extraction Tools

By restoring drivability to stripped or damaged fasteners, Bit-Biter™ removes the need for easy-outs, screw extractors, left-hand drill bits, or re-tapping. This reduces repair time significantly and eliminates the risk of extraction tool breakage inside the fastener bore.

Protective Against Surface and Injury Damage

Driver slip is a leading cause of surface gouging and operator hand injury in fastener removal tasks. Bit-Biter™ reduces slip events by maintaining consistent grip, protecting adjacent surfaces and the operator throughout the removal or installation process.

BroadTool and Substrate Compatibility

Bit-Biter™ functions with all standard driving tools and is compatible with all metals, wood, and most plastics. It does not interact chemically with these substrates and leaves no staining, corrosion, or residue that requires secondary cleanup beyond water rinsing.

Ready-to-Use Packaging

The30 cc brush bottle integrates the application tool directly into the packaging, allowing for immediate, controlled use without additional dispensing equipment. The brush tip enables precise application to small fastener heads in confined spaces.

What types of fasteners can Bit-Biter™ be used on?

Bit-Biter™ is effective on any fastener with a drive recess or external drive feature, including Phillips, slotted, hex, Torx, square drive, and spline head fasteners. It is compatible with fasteners in all metals, wood, and most plastic substrates.

Can Bit-Biter™ be used to prevent stripping rather than just remediate it?

Yes. Bit-Biter™ can be applied to new fasteners or driver tips before installation to increase friction and reduce the likelihood of cam-out. This is particularly useful in high-cycle assembly environments or when working with fasteners in difficult-access locations.

Does Bit-Biter™ require any special tools or equipment to apply?

No. The product is comes in a 30cc brush bottle with an integrated applicator. The driver tip is dipped directly into the bottle, or the brush is used to apply the compound to the fastener head. No additional dispensing tools are required.

Is Bit-Biter™ safe to use in enclosed or indoor environments?

Yes. Bit-Biter™ is odorless, non-toxic, and non-corrosive. It does not emit fumes or require ventilation for normal use. Excess product is cleaned up with water.

What is the shelf life of Bit-Biter™?

Bit-Biter™ has an indefinite shelf life. The formula does not contain volatile components that evaporate or reactive chemistries that degrade over time. The bottle should be stored in a cool location and shaken before use.

What temperature range is Bit-Biter™ rated for?

Bit-Biter™ is rated for operational temperatures from -50°C to 75°C (approximately -60°Fto 170°F), covering the full range of temperatures encountered in general automotive, industrial, and field service applications.
