3M has officially discontinued two long-standing thread adhesive products: 2353 and 2510. These formulas have been trusted in industries ranging from automotive to electronics for their ability to keep fasteners secure.
Tectorius offers Tec‑Bond® 235 and Tec‑Bond® 251, direct substitutes for the discontinued 3M™ 2353 and 2510 pre-applied fastener adhesives (formerly known as Scotchgrip™). Like their predecessors, they provide excellent resistance to vibration, thermal cycling, and shock. Unlike the older versions, Tec‑Bond 235 and 251 do not whiten over time, which is a known issue with the 3M alternatives. They are also unaffected by humidity, making them more stable and reliable across a wide range of environments. A new “BOOSTER” additive further enhances adhesion and locking power, delivering even greater performance under vibration, shock, and thermal stress.
Tectorius also offers Tec-Bond 235 and Tec-Bond 251 in dry powder concentrate (DPC) form. These can be reconstituted at the user site, reducing shipping costs and extending shelf life that is especially beneficial for international users or facilities managing long-term inventory.
If your application requires a solvent-free solution, Tec-Bond 240 and Tec-Bond 261 are water-based alternatives that align with environmental and safety requirements. Both are RoHS and REACH compliant, featuring low odor, low toxicity, and low chlorine content.
